Master’s Thesis Defense: Pathfinding for Smart Mobile Robots
On Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 9:00 AM, Ali Abdul Hussein Yassin defended his master’s thesis titled:
“Pathfinding Based on Smart Mobile Robots.”
The defense, conducted in Dijla Hall, was chaired by:
- Assist. Prof. Dr. Hassan Waryush Helo
- Assist. Prof. Dr. Abbas Hassan Eisa
- Dr. Khalida Shaban Rajab
- Assist. Prof. Dr. Iyad Ibrahim Abbas (Supervisor).
The thesis detailed the design of grid-based robot navigation to identify optimal paths using Dijkstra’s algorithm in MATLAB and Python. The project also involved hardware development using 3Pi Raspberry controllers and IR sensors for autonomous robot motion. The thesis was approved with minor amendments, earning the candidate a “Pass” grade.
