A faculty member in the department obtains a PhD

Teacher Hawra Qasim Hamid received a PhD degree with distinction from the Department of Electromechanical Engineering for her thesis titled – Experimental and theoretical investigation of artificial intelligence techniques to control the charging of electric vehicles.
The thesis aimed to reduce environmental pollution and fuel expenses through the use of sustainable electric vehicles. The thesis included the design of a new technique for charging electric vehicles using wireless charging with a nested coaxial coil within a time of 26 minutes by using artificial intelligence methods, thus extending the life of the electric charging battery.
The discussion committee consisted of Dr. Adel Hanoun Ayal as chairman, Dr. Hassan Fahad Khazaal as a member, Dr. Abbas Hussein Issa as a member, Dr. M.D. Hussein Saad Abdul as a member, Dr. Khalid Faisal Sultan as a member and supervisor. Dr. Hisham Salim Anid is a member and supervisor
