Cultural Lecture on Obesity and Joint Diseases Held by the Electrical Engineering Department

As part of its series of scientific and cultural activities, the Electrical Engineering Department, under the patronage of the University of Technology President, Prof. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghabban, organized a cultural lecture titled “Obesity and Joint Diseases”. The event took place on Thursday, December 12, 2019, in the Dijlah Hall of the department in collaboration with the University’s Student Activities Department.

The lecture, delivered by Prof. Muzafar Abdullah Shafiq, President of the Iraqi Society of Sports Medicine, highlighted the causes and consequences of obesity across all age groups. Prof. Shafiq emphasized prevention through balanced diets and regular physical activity, both during and after working hours. The session also featured a Q&A segment, where attendees actively engaged and received comprehensive answers.

A large audience of faculty members, students, and university staff, including heads of academic departments and professors, attended the lecture, reflecting its significance.
