Doctorate Awarded for Research on Intelligent Controllers for Brushless DC Motors
The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology awarded a PhD to Haider Yousef Abdul for his dissertation titled “Design and Implementation of Advanced Intelligent Controller for Brushless DC Motor.”
The research applied Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to enhance controller settings for Proportional-Derivative (PD) controllers and Type-1 Fuzzy Logic Controllers (T1FLC), achieving improved dynamic performance. The study also minimized root mean square error (RMSE) to optimize PSO particles during iterations.
