Electrical Engineering Department organizes a workshop on the rights and duties of public servants
The Department of Electrical Engineering, in cooperation with the Department of Legal Affairs, held a workshop entitled “The Rights and Duties of the Public Employee”. In the presence of the Administrative Assistant, Prof. Dr. Kanaan Ali Jalal, and a number of teachers and affiliates of the department and the university.
The workshop was held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the Department’s Dijlah Hall. The lecture was delivered by the Director of the Legal Affairs Department. Haider Abdullah Fadhil discussed the rights of the public employee, including his right to receive salary and vacations of all kinds and the extent to which this is compatible with the governing principle in administrative law and the duties of the public employee according to the Law of Discipline of State and Public Sector Employees No. 14 of 1991 as amended and how to deal with citizens, students, co-workers and superiors and the need to work faithfully and responsibly and maintain the dignity of the job and preserve the confidentiality of documents and information. The importance of holding this workshop comes for the purpose of educating employees in general and new recruits in particular about the laws and regulations and the consequent rights and duties, and contributes to creating a capable career generation armed with the required knowledge and expertise.
At the end of the workshop, the door was opened for discussion and answering questions and inquiries.
