Faculty Member Publishes Novel Research on Gas Insulation Strength
Dr. Aws Habib Mohammed published a joint research paper titled “Versatile Paschen’s Model for The Dielectric Strength Estimation of Binary and Ternary Gas Mixtures” in the globally renowned journal IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation. This journal holds an impact factor of 2.135, according to Clarivate Analytics.
The research proposed a modified Paschen’s law for estimating the dielectric strength of pure and mixed insulating gases. Experimental results from high-voltage laboratory tests were compared with predictions from the proposed model and traditional methods. The study demonstrated the new model’s superior accuracy in predicting the dielectric strength of binary and ternary gas mixtures.
