Faculty Member Publishes Research in Global Journal

Dr. Raed Thiban Hamid of the Electrical Engineering Department collaborated with graduate student Zainab Mohammed Abdul Jabbar on a research paper in microwave engineering. The paper, focused on dual-band communication systems, was published in the high-impact journal Electromagnetics by Taylor & Francis in the U.S., with a Clarivate Analytics impact factor of 0.5.

The study introduced a novel compact dual-band band-stop filter using a multilayer gradient-impedance resonator for wireless communication systems. A prototype was fabricated, demonstrating excellent performance in blocking frequencies of 2.4 GHz and 3.5 GHz for WLNA and WiMAX applications.

The filter design offered a smaller size, superior selectivity, and well-isolated passbands.
