Faculty Member Receives Patent for Welding Goggles

Dr. Azad Badr Saeed Al-Khalidi from the Electrical Engineering Department earned a patent for his invention, “Electronic Welding Goggles”, on February 17, 2008.

The goggles feature an automated lens adjustment system activated by electric current during welding, ensuring optimal eye protection. The device combines mechanical and electronic components, setting a benchmark for safety and innovation in welding technology.
