Master’s Degree Awarded for Research on Smart MPPT Design for PV Systems
The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology awarded a Master’s degree to Muhanad Hamid Mahmood for his thesis titled “Design and Implementation of Intelligent MPPT Based on FPGA for PV System.”
The thesis introduces a smart controller for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) using Adaptive Fuzzy Logic Control (AFLC) for photovoltaic systems. Comparative simulations conducted with MATLAB/Simulink demonstrated the efficacy of the proposed method over conventional approaches, such as Perturb and Observe (P&O) and Modified Incremental Conductance (MIncCon).
