Master’s Thesis Compares UPFC and TCSC for the Iraqi Power Grid

Shaimaa Abdul Kareem Hussein presented her thesis, “Comparative Analysis of UPFC and TCSC Based on Loss Reduction and Voltage Enhancement in the Iraqi Grid.” The study employed Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to identify optimal locations and parameters for Unified Power Flow Controllers (UPFC) and Thyristor-Controlled Series Capacitors (TCSC), using IEEE-14 bus and ING (400 kV) systems as case studies.
