Master’s Thesis Defense

On Thursday, December 6, 2018, at 9:00 AM, the Department of Electrical Engineering held a master’s thesis defense for student Haider Youssef Karim. The thesis, titled Modeling and Analysis of FACTS Devices in the Iraqi Power System, aimed to improve voltage stability by installing FACTS devices in optimal locations under various conditions, such as overloads and line outages.
The committee consisted of:

  • Dr. Kanaan Ali Jalal (Member)
  • Dr. Nasrallah Salman Khalaf (Member)
  • Dr. Rashid Hameed Al-Rubaie (Supervisor and Member)

The thesis was accepted after minor revisions, and the candidate received a “Pass” grade.
