Master’s Thesis Defense: Efficient Wireless Power Transmission for Medical Applications

On Thursday, September 26, 2019, at 9:00 AM, Maamar Mohammed Omran defended his master’s thesis titled:
“Designing an Efficient Wireless Power Transfer System for Medical Applications.”

The defense, held in Dijla Hall, was overseen by a committee comprising:

  • Prof. Dr. Sadiq Kamel Garghan (Chair)
  • Assist. Prof. Dr. Thamer Rashid Saeed
  • Assist. Prof. Dr. Raed Thaban Azaddin
  • Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saadoun Azaddin (Supervisor)
  • Assist. Prof. Dr. Saad Mutasher Abbas.

The study proposed a miniature coupling coil design implantable in the human body to stimulate nerves for conditions such as limb paralysis, epilepsy, or strokes. After minor revisions, the thesis was approved, and the candidate was awarded a “Pass” grade.
