Master’s Thesis Defense: High-Efficiency Multilevel Power Inverter
On Thursday, June 27, 2019, at 9:00 AM in Dijlah Hall, postgraduate student Hikmat Jassim Matar defended his master’s thesis titled Design and Implementation of a High-Efficiency Multilevel Power Inverter.
The examination committee included Dr. Ammar Hussein Mutlaq (Chair), Dr. Mohammed Moanes Al-Deen Ali, and Dr. Uday Ali Ahmed as members, with Dr. Ali Hussein Ahmed as supervisor and committee member.
The study proposed a novel single-phase, three-level inverter with a Trans-Z impedance input, delivering high-quality AC power with reduced harmonics. The system achieved significant efficiency with low filtering requirements. The thesis was accepted with minor revisions, and the candidate was awarded a “Pass” grade.
