Patent Granted for Camera Lens Distortion Reduction
Dr. Sinan Majid Abdul Sattar, an assistant professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, received a patent from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, Ministry of Planning.
The patent introduced an innovative algorithm for evaluating and reducing radial distortion in lenses using statistical criteria. This technique, which employs a chessboard pattern for calibration, enhances the precision of lens distortion correction, particularly for focal lengths of varying sizes.
