PhD Awarded for Research on Smart Radar Systems
The Electrical Engineering Department awarded a PhD to Ghufran Mahdi Hatim for her dissertation titled “Design and Implementation of a Smart Processor to Enhance Radar Performance.”
The dissertation proposed a system to reduce false alarm rates while maintaining error rates at acceptable levels. The design can work with various data and target scenarios, ensuring consistent performance. The defense took place on Sunday, December 29, 2019, in Dijla Hall, with the following committee members:
