Research Publication in International Journal

Assoc. Prof. Eyad Ibrahim Abbas, a faculty member from the Electrical Engineering Department, co-authored a research paper with master’s student Nouf Thabet Mahmoud titled “Wireless Control and Display of Electric Power Meter Using Zigbee Technology.” The study was published in the International Journal of Current Engineering and Technology.

The research proposed a cost-effective, energy-efficient system for remote monitoring and controlling consumer electric power meters. By retrofitting the electromechanical meters widely used in Iraq, the system generates pulses proportional to energy consumption. These are processed using a microcontroller, enabling real-time data storage and display.
