The department organizes a scientific visit.

As part of the scientific activities series of the Department of Electrical Engineering and its productive interaction with government ministries and their departments, the Department of Electrical Engineering organized a scientific trip for the fourth-year students, specializing in Electrical Engineering, to the General Company for the Production of Electric Power for the Central Region / South Baghdad Gas Power Plant (Second). The trip took place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, under the supervision of several professors and engineers from the department. The students were introduced to the operations of the plant’s control room, in addition to gaining insight into the reality of the Iraqi national grid in light of the actual load requirements. They also learned about how to handle the increasing demand for energy, address grid congestion, and manage potential faults that may occur. The group was received by the plant manager, Engineer Hazem Rassam Al-Saadi, along with several engineers working in the department. At the end of the visit, the students and their supervisors expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the efforts made to ensure the success of the visit, supporting the scientific communication between the university and state institutions.
