
The Electrical Engineering Department holds an awareness workshop on irregular migration.
The Department of Electrical Engineering held an awareness workshop titled “Regular and Irregular Migration, the Risks of Irregular Migration, and Supporting Returning Migrants.” The workshop was attended by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Jabbar Khalaf Mohammed, the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr. Kanaan Ali Jalal, and a number of faculty members, staff, and students.
The lecture was delivered by Counselor Nabaa Sadiq Abdul Muttalib from the Labor Resources and Labor Migration Center at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
The lecture addressed migration in general, both regular and irregular, and the risks of illegal migration, its dimensions, and its impact on individuals and society, as it is linked to economic and social factors. The workshop also discussed the importance of developing solutions, plans, and programs to reduce illegal or irregular migration, including efforts to build national values, legal and social awareness, and taking precautionary measures to prevent the entry of illegal migrants into the country. It also urged young people to remain in their country to prevent the migration of skilled and energetic individuals. The floor was then opened for discussion, questions, and interventions. At the end of the workshop, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the lecturer and those in charge of the workshop.
