Workshop on Empowering Women in Crisis Management
As part of the cultural season of the Department of Electrical Engineering, a workshop titled “Empowering Women in Crisis Management” was held, with the presence of the Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, Associate Prof. Dr. Jabar Khalaf Mohammed, and the Administrative Assistant, Associate Prof. Dr. Kanaan Ali Jalal, in the Dijla Hall on Monday, April 15, 2024.
The lecture was delivered by Associate Prof. Dr. Baraa Mohammed Hassan, along with department members, including Assistant Prof. Dr. Shaima Abdul Ghani Mohammed, Assistant Prof. Dr. Salwa Adel Abdul Hamid, and Ms. Maysaa Abdul Hassan Joudi. The workshop discussed the types of crises, how to deal with them, and the vital role women play in managing and overcoming them in an optimal manner. It also highlighted the importance of utilizing women’s capabilities, as they represent half of society, in actively contributing to the service of state institutions and agencies during crises. Several faculty members, staff, and department members attended the workshop and engaged with the topics discussed. A discussion session was held at the end, where questions were answered. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to the lecturers at the conclusion of the event.
