Faculty Achieve Microwave Engineering Patent

A research group specializing in microwave engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering achieved a breakthrough patent addressing leakage issues in microwave systems.

The team, including Professor Jawad Kazem Ali, Dr. Ali Jabbar Salem, and graduate student Haider Salah Ahmed, designed multi-cell filters tailored for specific operational frequencies. These filters were tested on household microwave ovens, yielding excellent results in leakage reduction. The filters were developed at the Electronic Design Center, Ministry of Science and Technology, and can be customized for various systems.
