Master’s Thesis Examines Power Quality in Iraqi PV Grid-Tied Systems

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology awarded a master’s degree to Ahmed Ali Jassim for his thesis titled “Power Quality of PV Grid-Tied System in Iraqi Distribution Network: Examination and Improvement.”

The research aims to enhance the use of renewable and environmentally friendly energy sources, focusing on solar power as a sustainable solution. The study utilized Iraq’s largest solar power station, a 250-kilowatt installation consisting of 1,428 Sharp 175W panels and ten 25-kilowatt inverters, located at the Ministry of Electricity headquarters. This station serves as a case study to evaluate power quality performance.
