Workshop on Legal Framework of Exam Monitoring Held by Electrical Engineering Department

On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 10:00 AM, the Electrical Engineering Department organized a workshop titled The Legal Framework of Exam Monitoring According to the Laws and Instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The workshop, held in the Dijla Hall of the department, was attended by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Muntadhar Sami Shakir, along with faculty members and staff from the department and university.

The speaker, Dr. Haider Hassan Ali, discussed several key points:

  1. Legal framework for exam committees based on Instruction No. 134 of 2000 (amended).
  2. Legal requirements for final exams regarding question quality, timing, and responsible authorities per Instruction No. 38 of 1992.
  3. Legal procedures for detecting and addressing cheating, ensuring adherence to the law.
  4. Steps to prevent cheating and handle incidents in compliance with legal standards.
  5. Responsibilities of exam committees in addressing cheating cases during and after exams.
  6. University professors’ duties in exam monitoring as per the University Service Law and Public Employee Discipline Law.

The workshop is part of a series of practical sessions designed to enhance skills and knowledge for both staff and students. The event concluded with a Q&A session, addressing participants’ inquiries and observations.
